The web server
Accessing the HDfury Diva web server by IP, hostname or mDNS
The embedded webserver is where the rest of the Diva lives: EDID, scaling, HDR and Dolby Vision, the on-screen display, macros and configuration. All you need is a browser on the same network.
Before you start
An Ethernet cable between the LAN CONTROL RJ45 connector and your local router or switch is mandatory. There is no wireless route in. By default the Diva uses DHCP to retrieve an assigned address automatically, and you can set a static address later from the CONFIG section of the webserver itself.
Three ways in
- By IP address
- The universal method. Open a browser on any device on the same network as the Diva and type the IP address shown on the Diva OLED straight into the address bar, for example 192.168.1.137.
- By hostname
- Instead of the address, use the hostname listed on the OLED LAN INFO page. Press the INFO button to cycle the OLED pages until you see LAN INFO with the hostname on it, then type that into the address bar of a browser on the same network, for example http://DIVA-XX/. XX stands for the last two digits of your unit's unique serial number.
- By mDNS
- On iOS and Mac devices you may prefer mDNS. Retrieve the mDNS address from the same OLED LAN INFO page and type it into the browser, for example http://DIVA-XX.local/, where XX is again the last two digits of the serial number.
Only IP address access is universal, and it should work from any browser-based device as long as it is on the same network. Hostname and mDNS work in many cases, but they cannot be guaranteed to work everywhere. If you have trouble reaching the webserver, fall back to the IP address.
The top bar
You land on the INFO page, with a top tier section above it that stays on screen throughout. It repeats what the Diva shows on its default OLED page and on the LAN INFO page you reach with the INFO button, so you can confirm you are talking to the unit you think you are.
- Hostname
- The Diva hostname, for URL access.
- mDNS
- The Diva mDNS name, for URL access.
- IP Address
- The current IP address of the unit.
- FW
- The firmware currently running, for example MCU: 0.25 FPGA: 0.8. There are two processors and both versions are reported.
If you run more than one HDfury unit, note the hostname of each: the DIVA-XX form makes them easy to bookmark separately, and the serial digits stop you from reconfiguring the wrong box.
