HDfury Diva audio, CEC, ARC and eARC connections

Diva has three ways of delivering audio, and one of them can pull sound back out of your TV. Which you use depends on what your AVR can decode and what it can be connected with.

The three audio outputs

HDMI audio output
A self-generated 720p or 1080p video stream carrying full audio, made to feed any AVR input. The audio can come from any source device at the Diva inputs, or from eARC or ARC on TX0. This is the output to use when you want every format your AVR can decode.
TX1, the older AVR or sink output
Any equipment that is only capable of 1080p, in HDR or SDR, can be connected here and get full HDMI sound and video. Make sure the EDID Diva presents to the sources at its inputs reflects that equipment's audio capabilities, otherwise a source will send something the AVR cannot decode.
SPDIF or L/R analog out
The 3.5mm combo jack extracts HDMI sound from any source at the Diva inputs, and can also output ARC taken from TX0. Optical carries up to 5.1; the analog side is stereo.

eARC: Atmos HBR over TrueHD from your TV

When a TV with an eARC capable input is connected at TX0, Diva can extract up to Dolby Atmos HBR over TrueHD from it and send that out of the HDMI audio output to feed any AVR input capable of decoding the format. This is how the soundtrack from apps running on the TV itself reaches an AVR that has no eARC of its own.

eARC does not rely on CEC, so you do not need to select any CEC option to make it work. Extraction happens automatically and is forwarded to the Diva HDMI audio output on its own.

ARC: Atmos over DD+ from an older TV

For a TV with ARC rather than eARC, Diva handles up to DD+ and Atmos over DD+ bitstream, again from TX0. You can route that audio to the dedicated HDMI audio output to feed an AVR input, or to the optical output, or both.

ARC does depend on CEC, and CEC master is always TX0. So connect the ARC capable input of your TV to the Diva TX0 HDMI output, and set the unit as Audio Processor under the Diva CEC device type. Those settings are in the CEC and RS232 section. If ARC audio never appears, that device type is the first thing to check.

Getting the routing right

CEC master being TX0 is the rule that shapes the whole layout. The TV you want ARC or eARC from belongs on TX0, not TX1, no matter which display you consider primary. Your AVR then sits on the HDMI audio output, decoding whatever Diva hands it, while TX1 stays free for a second, older display in 1080p SDR.

Because any HDMI sound format in existence today passes through the inputs and TX0 intact, the practical limit is your AVR, not the Diva. Set the EDID your sources see to match what that AVR can decode, and the sources will send only formats the chain can handle.
