Updating the HDfury Diva firmware from a web browser
The Diva firmware is updated from any web browser based device, through the same web server you use for everything else. There are two files in each release and both have to be run.
Before you start
Download the latest firmware for your unit from the Download tab on the Diva product page. If you are not sure which version you are running, look at the OLED display on the unit, or at the header of any page of the embedded web server, which reports the firmware version too.
Once downloaded and extracted, you will have a directory containing a Diva MCU update file and a Diva FPGA update file. Both must be run to upgrade the unit successfully. There is no order to respect, so you can start with either one. The version numbers in the file names vary with the revision you downloaded.
Flashing a file
- Open the Diva web server and browse to the bottom of the CONFIG section, where the FW UPDATE control sits.
- Click Choose File and select one of the two Diva firmware files.
- Check that the file name now appears on the config page, so you know the right file was picked up.
- Click SEND to start flashing the firmware to your unit. A progress message appears in the footer of the config section.
- Wait. Do not disconnect your device while the upgrade is running.
- When it completes, a notification appears and the unit reboots on its own. For about 15 seconds there is no OLED and no light while it restarts and reconfigures itself.
- Once the OLED and the light come back on, click REFRESH.
- Confirm that the top section of the web server and the OLED both report the new firmware version.
Then repeat the same eight steps with the other file. Only when both the MCU and the FPGA updates have been run is the unit fully upgraded and ready to operate with everything the release added.
What else is in the package
Each firmware update package carries more than the two update files. The complete list of IR and RS232 commands is included as a text file for convenience, and it is always worth using the copy that shipped with the firmware you have just flashed rather than an older one you saved.
