OLED display

The screen and menu on the unit itself

In short

A small self-lit screen built into a device, used to report its running state and reach a menu without a computer or a browser.

The screen on the side of the unit answers most questions before you open a browser, and it keeps answering them when there is no picture and no network to open a browser with.

An OLED panel makes its own light pixel by pixel, so it needs no backlight, shows genuine black and stays readable from an angle. Small monochrome ones are cheap and legible, which is why they have replaced the segmented displays that used to sit on the front of rack equipment.

What matters more than the technology is that it is on the device. A web interface can only tell you things when the network is working and you have something to view it on. A display fixed to the unit still reports when there is no picture on any output, no address on the network, and nothing else to look at.

What the HDfury Diva OLED reports

It lights as soon as the power supply is applied, shows the logo, then the default info page. The INFO button cycles onward through LAN INFO, where the hostname and mDNS address live, then HDR INFO. The MENU button enters the OLED menu instead, which carries the settings you can change without a browser.

IP address
Shown whenever the LAN CONTROL socket is connected, and the address you type into a browser to reach the web server.
FW
The firmware version running, for example FW: 0.6. Quote it whenever you ask for support.
Active input
The input in use, for example IN1, followed by the signal once the HDCP and EDID handshake has completed.
The incoming signal line
The full description of what the source is sending, for example 4K50 4:2:2 BT2020 12b LLDV 594MHz 2.2: resolution and frame rate, subsampling, colorimetry, bit depth, the HDR or Dolby Vision flavour, the pixel clock and the HDCP revision.
TX0, first line
The EDID name of the sink at that output, for example LG TV, and the maximum format it claims, for example 4K60 4:4:4 8b BT2020 HDR.
TX0, second line
What is actually going out, with an arrow on the right: up for upscaled, down for downscaled, right for untouched.

Read the two TX0 lines together and most faults locate themselves. If the display claims 4K60 4:4:4 and the outgoing line is less than that with a right arrow, the limit is coming from the source or from the EDID being presented, not from the display.

Turning it off, flipping it and waking it

The CONFIG section holds the rest: OLED DISPLAY switches it off entirely, set oled off, for people who find a lit screen distracting in a darkened room; ROTATE 180 DEG, set oledrot on, suits a unit mounted the other way up; REVERSE COLORS inverts it; OLED FADE sets the timer in seconds, 30 by default, with set oledfade 0 keeping it permanently lit; and OLED PAGE chooses which page appears at startup.
