HDfury Diva ambient light strip installation
The ambient light strip sticks to the back of your display and reacts to whatever is playing through the Diva. Take your time with the sticking; the wiring afterwards is three plugs.
Fitting the strip
- Disconnect the TV from mains power and let it sit for a moment before you start.
- Clean the back panel of the TV so it is free from any dust. The adhesive will not hold on a dusty panel, and a strip that lifts later cannot be re-stuck cleanly.
- Start the LED strip install at the bottom right of the TV back panel and work upwards.
- As you go, make sure each segment of the strip is perfectly centred with the display side it is applied to. Alignment is what makes the colours land where the picture says they should.
- Bring the strip's USB connector out somewhere you can reach it once the TV is back in place.
Wiring it up
The three connections are made with the supplied Y cable, which ties power, the Diva and the strip together in one place. Connect one leg to the supplied 5V 4A power adapter, one leg to the Diva LED control input, and the third to the USB connector of the LED strip you have just installed.
If the cable runs do not reach, both sides extend with ordinary parts. USB power or the LED strip connection can be extended with a standard USB cord, and the Diva LED control link can be extended using any earphone 2.5mm jack extender.
Routing so the light responds
This catches people out because the TV they are lighting is usually the one on TX0. Diva reads the video from TX1 to drive the strip, so unless that same input is also present on TX1 the strip has nothing to follow. Set the routing with the OUT1 button on the unit or from the webserver, and confirm on the OLED that the input you are watching shows on both outputs.
Calibration and effects
Once the strip is up and wired, calibrate and adjust it in the LEDstrip section of the webserver. That is where you choose the tone-mapping profile that suits your display, pick the effect for active video and the one used while syncing, set video gamma to compensate for the colour of your wall, adjust pulsating and rotating speeds, choose a static colour, and trim overall red, green and blue intensity. All of those settings are described in the LEDstrip settings section of this manual.
Turn on any source at the Diva inputs and the strip will follow the picture. The strip is available in six lengths for displays from 21 to 85 inch, and supports content up to 4K HDR and LLDV.
