HDfury Diva IR control and NEC pronto hex codes

The Diva can be driven entirely by infrared, which is usually the easiest way to fold it into a remote or a control system you already own.

How the Diva receives IR

The unit has an IR window of its own, and an IR RX input for the supplied 9ft sensor cable, so the Diva can sit hidden in a rack while the sensor sits somewhere a remote can reach. The jack connections page covers the sensor and where it plugs in.

IR is one of several ways to control the unit. The Diva can be fully controlled by IR, or from any serial based computer running Windows, macOS or Linux over RS232, or over IP, or with the push buttons on the unit, or through the embedded web server from any browser. Nothing is exclusive to one of them, so it is normal to set the unit up in a browser and then drive it day to day from a remote.

The code format

The codes are NEC format. Each entry in the list gives the NEC address and command bytes, written as two hex values such as NEC 0x7a 0x4e, followed by the full pronto hex string for that function. If your remote or control system takes NEC device and function numbers directly, the two hex bytes are all you need. If it wants raw timings, use the pronto hex.

Codes come in pairs wherever a setting is a toggle, with a separate code for on and for off rather than one code that flips the state. That is deliberate and it is the behaviour you want in an automation: a macro can set the unit to a known state without having to know what state it was in.

Harmony and iRule

Thanks to the community, the Diva pronto code list has been submitted to Logitech Harmony and to iRule, so on those platforms you may find the device already listed rather than having to import anything. That is worth checking first, because it saves naming a couple of hundred functions by hand.
